* head back to RNG or go there if you haven't already and roll between 1 and 5, or choose a prompt of your own.
* play out the sequences relevant to that of a married lifestyle.

1. proposal
1. park - you've been planning this proposal for awhile and have taken your sweetheart to a nice secluded area in the park. are they going to say yes or leave you in the dust?

2. house - dimmed lights, candles, home made dinner. it's obvious you've fixed yourself up for something tonight. let's see if your lover catches on before the question is popped.

3. public event - perhaps you're one who wants to gain a lot of attention; maybe your significant other doesn't as much. either way, this goes from writing their message in the sky with an airplane to something like a flash mob ensemble with others involved.

4. restaurant - nothing romantic like taking them out somewhere ritzy and hiding the rings in that glass of expensive wine.

5. car - you've driven them somewhere nostalgic or meaningful either to you or each other, or perhaps just a good view overlooking the city cause maybe you had no other idea how to do it or couldn't afford anything else.

2. marriage
1. traditional - both parties have agreed and said yes, and everything goes well just like in the fairy tales you've always dreamed of.

2. arranged - you had no say so in this but somebody else like your parents did. you've never seen this person before until you walk down the aisle. what are your thoughts? are you nervous? what if you two don't get along? looks like you have to deal with it either way. enjoy?

3. elope - nothing fancy. you know, they do make drive thru chapels or perhaps you're just going to experience the excitement of meeting up at the court. all and all, it doesn't matter, just so you have your sweetheart to yourself.

4. shotgun - congrats, somebody is pregnant. there's only one more thing left to do now..

5. disaster - looks like somebody forgot the rings! never mind the fact the maid of honor is having a wardrobe malfunction or that soon to be father in law is causing a scene of some sort.

3. after marriage
1. honeymoon night - self explanatory! come on, you know what this means. it just wouldn't be the same without this option.

2. new addition - it could be a pregnancy or bringing home a new child, or something as simple as a new pet goldfish.

3. house purchase - after months of living in a trashy apartment, you're both about to sign the dotted line and move into your new place.

4. argument - deep, relationship sort of arguments or something petty like who drank all the milk; it's up to you!

5. divorce - somebody has had enough of this and is ready to move on. how will it all go down?

Taken from Bakerstreet on DW here. Please remember to loop your threads!

2:1, just to prove that we CAN be nice. Sometimes.

[It's just the three of them -- Ben, Maria, and Pastor George. The church has been very welcoming, but there are limits to tolerance, after all, and none of them wants to ruin what should be a happy moment. George's fears have been laid to rest during the premarital counseling sessions, and they're all as ready for this as they ever will be.

Ben's even in a tux, for the occasion. Because he wanted to do it right. And he gazes at his bride with his entire heart shining in his eyes.]

on occasion!

[Maria, as promised, bought a new dress for the occasion, and she's pinned a sprig of rue in her hair. It's not the stereotypical regalia of a bride, all white lace and too much train, but it suits her and it makes her look young and radiant all the same.

Or that might be the smile, because oh, she is most certainly smiling.]

[So is Ben, he can't stop smiling, and it feels so very good.

Not only that, but he can sense an angelic presence, and his nose tells him that Ereziel is sitting in the front row of ostensibly empty seats. He will, however, keep that bit of information to himself, because he's not sure Maria would be thrilled to know that.

But it amounts to an endorsement (because for damn sure Ereziel would let him know under no uncertain terms if they disapproved, Upstairs), and he's kind of thrilled about that too.

And as the familiar words start, Ben can't take his eyes off Maria.]

[Maria reaches out and takes Ben's hand -- she's ahead of her cue in the ceremony, but she can't help it and doesn't try. They're getting married, how can she help wanting to hold his hand for this?

George is smiling, too, as he reads; it may be only the three of them here, but he is going to by-God do right by this wedding nevertheless.]

"Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm:
For love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave:
The coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.

Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it . . ."

[Ben's barely registering the words, but he picks up his cue right enough, and he's got the ring ready.] Maria Gordon, I give you this ring in God's name, as a symbol of all that we have shared and promised, as a token of my love, my fidelity, and of the unending circle of our lives for yesterday, today and tomorrow.

[She is entirely too old for her heart to be doing the kind of nervous, joyful flip-flops it's doing as the ring slips onto her finger. And it fits perfectly, of course it does.]

And to you, Ben Lockwood, I give this ring in God's name, as a symbol of all that we have shared and promised, as a token of my love, my fidelity, and of the unending circle of our lives for yesterday, today and tomorrow and forever.

[Ben feels whole for the first time in over twenty years when she slides the ring onto his finger, and his eyes prickle as George recites the closing prayer:

"Eternal Father, Redeemer, we now turn to You, and as the first act of this couple in their newly formed union, we ask You to protect their home. May they always turn to You for guidance, for strength, for provision and direction. May they glorify You in the choices they make, in the ministries they involve themselves in, and in all that they do. Use them to draw others to Yourself, and let them stand as a testimony to the world of Your faithfulness. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen."

Ben's voice is hoarse as he repeats:] Amen.

["Go in peace, serve the Lord. By the power vested in me by God, I now pronounce you husband and wife." And George grins. "You may kiss your bride."

Ben proceeds to do so. Enthusiastically.]

[And Maria proceeds to kiss him back with no less enthusiasm, throwing an arm around his shoulders and threading her other hand into his hair and grinning into that kiss like a madwoman.

They're married. How amazing is that?]

[So very amazing. Ben takes his time over the kiss and finally breaks it off, reluctantly, and rests his forehead on hers.] Love you.

[Maria lowers her voice to a murmur, and the words and the accent are, for once, her own native ones, not the carefully cultivated layers of not-from-anywhere she uses when speaking her language with anybody else in the world.] Aš tave labai myliu. Oh, I love you so very, very much, my husband.

I never thought I could be this happy ever again. Thank you. Thank you for giving me my life and my self back, Maria.

[Maria smiles and leans forward and kisses his temple, his cheekbone, his jaw.]

Thank you. For sharing with me so precious a thing as your self and your life. For showing me what it is to love someone so very much as this.

It's my pleasure, milady. [His grin turns mischievous, and he drops his voice.] And it will be both our pleasure tonight if I've got anything to say about it.

Ach!

[She laughs and hugs him tight and buries her face in his shoulder, shoulders shaking. God, she's never been this happy in her entire life.]

Incorrigible man, I am going to hold you to that, I hope you know.

[Maria makes a pleased sound in response and runs a hand down his spine, trailing kisses down his jaw and neck to his shoulder. This was most definitely worth waiting for.]

My love, my heart, my husband.

[Well, would you look at that. It's a front clasp. How convenient.] You are wearing... entirely too many clothes, wife. Let's see if we can remedy that. [And he pops the clasp.]

Much better.

Ach, incorrigible man.

[But she's smiling and there's nothing but love in the words, and the fact she is industriously working on stripping him of his trousers probably is enough to show she doesn't mind a damned bit if he is incorrigible.]

[He grins more, impossibly.] You like it. [And, as usual, he's commando under there, and he's working just as assiduously to pull her dress the rest of the way down past her hips.]

Here we go...

Why, wife. What a scandalous pair of panties.

[Maria smirks and waggles her eyebrows -- she picked up that gesture from Ben.]

I did not let you help with all the clothes-shopping beforehand for a reason, husband.

[She nips gently at his earlobe and adds in a murmur]

Now then. You were saying something earlier about pleasures . . .

Why yes. Yes I was...

[And he takes his time, building and building and building until they finally crash together in a climax of truly epic proportions that he feels he's waited a lifetime for.

And after, he holds her in his arms and inhales her scent, mingled with his, and feels complete.] Oh, God, I love you.

[Maria curls up against his side, pillowing her head on his shoulder, drawing her fingertips in idle circles around the outer edge of the blue sigil that rings his heart. She feels like she fits in this spot, in a way she's never fit anywhere else quite as perfectly.]

And I love you. So much, so very much. My husband.

My wife. My Mate. My all. [He shakes his head and swallows hard. Dusty. Clearly he has been remiss in dusting in here.] This is perfect.

Mmmm.

[She closes her eyes and snuggles into him, resting the flat of her palm over his heart.]

We belong to one another, the two of us. Forever and ever.

Amen. And what Dad's joined together, let no man put asunder. [Society will frown on this. Society can go fuck itself. What two consenting adults do, as far as he's concerned, is none of society's damn business.

The irony of the fact that society doesn't care if he consents or not, and yet would be appalled at the notion of a werewolf getting married, is not lost on him. He inhales the scent of wife and Mate and home, and is truly happy.]

Thank You, Dad, for giving us this.

[Maria nods fervently against his shoulder. Belief, faith, trust in Ben's God, those are still something she's working on -- as evidenced, maybe, by the fact that she still thinks of Him as Ben's God without realizing she does it.

But this? This is more goodness than she ever deserved. This is a gift, and she's certainly not above being grateful.]

For all of this. Thank You.
